Parent Involvement

Studies have shown that parent involvement is one of the most important factors contributing to student success. At SFHS we have seen, first hand, the accomplishments that many of our students have achieved, with the help and support from their parent(s). We, thus, encourage all parents to participate daily in their student's high school experience.

It is our goal to establish a strong working relationship with students and their parents to ensure that every student meet his/her academic goals. We are committed to providing parents with the opportunities that will help them better prepare their students for high school graduation and for post-education training or schooling.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED

The Expanded Horizons Parent Advisory Committee meets regularly throughout the school year to provide parents with information regarding the school's instructional programs, student assessment and achievement, and school-wide intervention and prevention services. Educational trainings, and workshops are also provided to parents regarding the following topics:
  • Self Esteem
  • Family Communication
  • How To Discipline Your Child
  • Substance Abuse
  • Test Anxiety
  • Internet Safety
  • How to Pay & Get To College
