How to Report Bullying/ Acoso – Cómo Reportarlo

How to Report Bullying
Every student is entitled to a safe school environment free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation and bullying. The District’s policy on bullying is available on the District website.
1. The District prohibits bullying, which includes, but is not limited to, discrimination, harassment, and intimidation based on a student’s actual sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, or sexual orientation; the perception of one or more of such characteristics; or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
2. School staff who witness bullying shall immediately intervene to stop the incident when it is safe to do so.
3. Acts of bullying or discrimination should be brought to the attention of the administration, dean, security, School Resource Officer (SRO), counselors, teachers or staff.
4. Anonymous/confidential reports can be made by contacting the Assistant Principal of Guidance or Dean (in person or by email or by calling the Student Support Services Department at the District Office. If there is sufficient corroborating information, administration will commence an investigation.
5. Complaints of bullying or discrimination will be considered confidential. However, it may be necessary to disclose certain information in order to effectively investigate.
6. Students who violate the District’s policies on bullying or discrimination may be subject to discipline, up to and including suspension and expulsion.
7. The District prohibits retaliation against individuals who make complaints of bullying or provide information related to complaints.

Cada estudiante tiene derecho a un ambiente escolar seguro y libre de discriminación, acoso, e intimidación. La póliza del Distrito sobre el acoso está disponible en la página de red del distrito.
1. El distrito prohíbe la intimidación, que incluye, pero no se limita a discriminación, el acoso y la intimidación basada en el sexo de un estudiante, género, identidad de género, expresión de género, raza, etnicidad, nacionalidad, religión, discapacidad u orientación sexual; la percepción de una o más de tales características; o asociación con una persona o grupo con una o más de estas características ciertas o percibidas.
2. El personal escolar que sea testigo deberá intervenir inmediatamente para detener el incidente cuando sea seguro.
3. Actos de acoso o discriminación deben ser presentados a la administración, decano, seguridad, oficial de recursos escolares (SRO), consejeros, maestros o personal.
4. Informes anónimos / confidenciales se pueden hacer poniéndose en contacto con el sub-director de Consejería o con el decano de estudiantes (en persona o por correo electrónico) o llamando al Departamento de Servicios de Apoyo Estudiantil del Distrito. Si hay suficiente información justificada, la administración iniciará una investigación.
5. Las quejas de acoso o discriminación serán consideradas confidencial. Sin embargo, puede ser necesario revelar cierta información con el fin de investigar de manera efectiva.
6. Los estudiantes que violen las pólizas del Distrito sobre el acoso o la discriminación pueden estar sujetos a disciplina hasta, e incluyendo, suspensión y expulsión.
7. El Distrito prohíbe las represalias contra las personas que hacen las quejas de acoso o proporcionan información relacionada con las quejas.
8. Los estudiantes y los padres pueden comunicarse a la oficina de Servicios de Apoyo Estudiantil al 562-698-8121, extensión 1180 para presentar una queja o para obtener más información acerca de las pólizas y referencias de acoso y discriminación de los servicios.
