Do I need to take the SAT or ACT?

College testing policies vary by school. Some colleges require SAT or ACT scores, while others are test-optional or test-preferred. Requirements may also vary depending on the college, program, scholarship, or admission cycle.

If you are planning to apply to private colleges, out-of-state colleges, or colleges with specific testing requirements, we strongly recommend checking each college's current admission requirements.
